Our client seeks a Software Test Engineer to support a mobile user application in an agile environment. The role will ensure product quality through manual and automated testing across user interface and backend components. The engineer will collaborate with system engineers, developers, and testers to author test documentation and support agile ceremonies.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $55.00 to $60.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:- Author and execute manual and automated test cases to validate product requirements.
- Author and maintain tools, techniques, and practices that support product testing.
- Participate in agile planning, analysis and design events, and reviews.
- Verify quality checks and acceptance criteria before code merges.
- Report bugs and test results completely and on time.
- Identify, analyze, and document functional or content issues.
- Contribute to product design reviews with input on requirements, design, schedules, and risks.
- Write testing documentation and finalize system and software documentation CDRLs.
- Work within Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
- Experience implementing regression testing for software.
- Experience with performance and other non-functional testing.
- Familiarity or experience with automated test tools.
- Effective communication with Product Owners and software developers.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- DoD 8570 approved security certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP) within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to quickly become proficient in new tools and technologies.
- Ability to identify efficiencies and process improvements between development and testing.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Experience with issue tracking systems such as VersionOne or Jira.
- Experience with continuous integration environments such as Jenkins.
- Proficiency with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Agile certification is desired.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices is desired.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate.
