Job Description
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm
Step into a day-in-the-lifeYou start your shift in the HDL department, review the production order, and prepare your assembly machine for a new run. You dial in settings to spec, run first-article checks, and watch the process take shape—tweaking, measuring, documenting. A minor fault pops up; you troubleshoot quickly to minimize downtime, then huddle with your supervisor and engineering to fine-tune the process. By day’s end, your line is stable, your production records are complete, and high-quality components are queued for the next operation.
Role OverviewReports to: Business Unit Manager, HDL & DACO
Operate and care for assembly equipment to consistently produce quality parts, meet output targets, and uphold safety standards. You’ll set up machines, monitor performance, resolve issues, and keep accurate, detailed logs.
What you’ll do- Set up and run assembly machinery per production specs and company procedures.
- Continuously monitor performance to meet quality standards and prevent defects.
- Troubleshoot on-the-fly to reduce downtime and keep throughput on track.
- Verify finished parts meet blueprint and inspection criteria.
- Perform routine maintenance and fine adjustments for optimal operation.
- Record machine settings, output, and nonconformances with accuracy.
- Follow safety protocols and use required PPE at all times.
- Partner with supervisors, engineers, and peers to solve issues and improve processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Experience with assembly machinery or in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfort working both independently and as part of a fast-paced team.
- Knowledge of shop safety practices and proper PPE use.
- Clear, professional communication with teammates and leaders.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in machine operation or assembly is preferred.
- Environment: Factory floor with frequent interaction across production and warehouse areas.
- Physical demands: Regular walking; frequent twisting; prolonged standing; bending and squatting; ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday; flexibility for extended hours as needed.
- Travel: Occasional trips for supplier visits, conferences, or coordination with other facilities.
