Job Title: Materials & Inventory Manager

Winholt is seeking a Materials & Inventory Manager.


The corporate Materials & Inventory manager is responsible for inventory management at all Winholt Equipment manufacturing and distribution locations and will include site assessments of inventory control and storage capabilities, cycle count program, physical inventory management and reporting, KPI and dashboard development to include corporate initiative attainment.


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Leads/Directs Winholt’s Materials Management Team across all manufacturing and distribution sites.
  • Using existing and newly developed inventory management tools, identifies system and or process weaknesses and develops action plans for improvement.
  • Develops KPI’s and key reporting tools/dashboards, monitors materials transactions and inventory adjustments. 
  • Using CI/LEAN practices, implements preventive and corrective action plans.
  • Directs and personally conducts contract negotiations with logistics partners focusing on serviceability and cost management.
  • Manages the corporate RMA process and the disposition of associated materials.
  • Investigates and develops partnerships with local 3PL companies to support business activities across all distribution centers.
  • Negotiates 3PL/carrier contracts.
  • Works closely with the procurement group and the site managers to ensure inventory accuracy, timely receipts of materials, expediting process and logistics. As well as materials requirement planning (MRP)
  • Monitors inventory turns against corporate goals. And takes corrective actions as needed.
  • Supervises the auditing of inventory levels, cycle counting procedure, the preparation of related reports, and the maintenance of inventory transaction records.
  • Monitors the company’s MRP system to ensure proper materials issues and receipts.
  • Supervises the disposition of scrap materials.
  • Evaluates stock status at all sites and recommends appropriate stocking levels.
  • Works closely with the Director of Operations and Manufacturing on the evaluation of key projects, expansions, capital expenditures and resources.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong history of leadership with progressive growth.
  • Five years’ work history in related field.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with emphasis on problem solving and corrective action implementation.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Team builder. Able to work in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience negotiating high level contracts with logistics partners and 3PL providers.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,)
  • Must have extensive knowledge and experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Epicor, AS400. “Super-User” level/experience preferred.
  • Must have full working knowledge of ERP System Materials Management Modules, including materials transactions, quantity adjustments, bills of materials, job order management, stock location set up and review, and transfers.
  • Must be familiar with Production Management/Production Control Modules including Shop Order Flow, Materials Movements, Issues, Receipts, Balancing and Closing.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, squat, climb ladders and periodically lift to 40 lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to wear required PPE, such as hard hat, eye and ear protection, safety shoes, gloves, and protective clothing where required.
  • Must be able to converse, read and write in English.

Working Environment

  • Primary work will be performed in a typical office environment.
  • Periodically and as needed, such as in the case of physical inventory counts, work will be performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment where temperature is not controlled.

Compensation Information

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $95,000 annually. This range represents the Company's good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and internal equity considerations. In addition to base compensation, Winholt offers a comprehensive benefits package and may provide bonus or incentive opportunities where applicable.
