Job Description
Do you take pride in creating a clean, organized, and comfortable environment? Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. (TBCHS) is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at our Onaway Clinic.
In this role, you’ll help maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. This is an after-hours position, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for a consistent part-time schedule.
Position DetailsLocation: Onaway Clinic
Hours: Approximately 12–15 hours per week
Schedule: 5 days per week, generally Monday–Friday
Typical Hours: Approximately 5:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., with some flexibility based on clinic needs
Travel: No travel between TBCHS locations is currently expected
Clean and sanitize exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, hallways, break rooms, restrooms, and other assigned areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors, carpets, mats, baseboards, and other surfaces.
Clean and disinfect exam tables, furniture, fixtures, sinks, mirrors, glass, doors, and other surfaces following established procedures.
Empty trash and recycling and properly dispose of waste.
Restock soap, paper products, and other facility supplies.
Keep cleaning equipment, janitorial closets, and supply areas clean, safe, and organized.
Safely use cleaning products and equipment while following safety, infection prevention, and sanitation procedures.
Complete cleaning checklists and promptly report supply needs, maintenance concerns, safety issues, damage, or unusual conditions.
Maintain building security and protect confidential patient, employee, and organizational information while working after hours.
Maintain dependable attendance and communicate appropriately regarding scheduling or coverage needs.

Able to follow written and verbal instructions, safety guidelines, and cleaning procedures
Committed to cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and infection prevention
Professional and respectful in a healthcare environment
Able to communicate concerns and work cooperatively with clinic staff and supervisors
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous housekeeping, custodial, environmental services, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
No specific license or certification required
Reliable transportation to and from the Onaway Clinic required
Successful completion of a background check required
This is a physically active position. The employee must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks. The ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds is required.
