• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160/week based on 40 hours

• EPIC Experience: Required

• Contract: 13 weeks

• 25-bed Critical Access Hospital

• Core Laboratory with some STAT Microbiology

• Provides both inpatient and outpatient laboratory services

• Phlebotomy coverage for inpatient and outpatient services

• Phlebotomy hours: 5:00 AM–9:30 PM

• Laboratory scheduling currently handled by the manager and Lead Phlebotomist

• Charting system: Cerner

• Clinical laboratory testing includes:

  • Chemistry

  • Hematology

  • Coagulation

  • Special Chemistry

  • Urinalysis

  • Blood Bank

  • Serology

  • Immunology

  • Bacteriology / Microbiology

  • Referral testing

• Perform and prioritize STAT, ASAP, routine and timed laboratory testing

• Perform specimen collection and phlebotomy when necessary

• Conduct quality control checks and document results

• Evaluate test accuracy and recognize abnormal/incompatible results

• Communicate critical values to appropriate clinicians

• Perform equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration

• Maintain laboratory supplies, reagents, controls and calibrators

• Follow laboratory safety, HIPAA and quality-assurance procedures

• Assist with training and supervision of laboratory assistants and clerks

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Allied Health Technologies, or equivalent

• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license – Required

• EPIC experience – Required

• Clinical laboratory experience preferred

• ASCP or NCA certification – Preferred

• Experience with core laboratory testing

• Ability to perform or assist with phlebotomy

• Ability to work independently and prioritize STAT and routine testing
