Role ScopeLead the market and feasibility response for ground-scanning methods applicable to dense urban underground infrastructure.
The RFI concerns a secure 3D data-sharing platform for built and natural underground assets, including water and sewer pipes, gas lines, electrical conduits, fiber-optic cables, and soil composition. Responses must address feasible sensing, data-integration, accuracy, security, and operating approaches without presenting the notice as an awarded implementation contract.

The OpportunityFuntoNetwork is seeking a Ground-Scanning Technology Research Lead for upcoming project opportunity: New York City Office of Technology and Innovation.
Core Responsibilities- Compare applicable ground-penetrating radar, electromagnetic, acoustic, LiDAR-adjacent, robotic, and other non-destructive sensing approaches for NYC conditions.
- Document achievable depth, resolution, positional accuracy, surface/access constraints, false-positive risks, safety considerations, and validation methods.
- Develop evidence-based RFI recommendations, assumptions, limitations, deployment scenarios, and questions for the 3D Underground program.
- Baseline functional, data, interface, security, performance, environment, and support requirements for the assigned component.
- Design, configure, build, or migrate the component and maintain source, configuration, mapping, and technical decision records.
- Trace assigned work to the RFP scope, requirement or RTM row, deliverable, dependency, acceptance criterion, schedule milestone, and supporting evidence.
- Review official solicitation materials and addenda affecting this workstream; document assumptions, open items, exclusions, risks, and required client decisions.
- Prepare role-specific technical inputs, work products, estimates, implementation details, quality records, and proposal or post-award delivery evidence.
- Coordinate interfaces and handoffs with project management, business analysis, technical, field, quality, compliance, training, and operations workstreams.
- Maintain status, issue, decision, change, and evidence records and escalate blockers before they affect submission or delivery readiness.
