Tax Accountant – Controller & Fractional CFO Services

Lang Recruiting is partnering with a growing financial consulting firm in Downtown Northville, Michigan to find an experienced accounting professional who wants more than just tax compliance.

This is a great opportunity for someone with 5–10 years of accounting experience who enjoys working directly with business owners and wants exposure to tax, controller, and fractional CFO work.

What you’ll be doing:

• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns

• Lead tax planning, projections, and tax research

• Oversee month-end and year-end close for multiple clients

• Prepare financial statements and management reports

• Build budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections

• Develop KPI reporting and advise business owners on financial decisions

• Help improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls

• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients

• Mentor junior staff as the team grows

What they’re looking for:

• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience

• Hands-on tax and controller-level experience

• Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation

• QuickBooks and advanced Excel experience

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly

• CPA or actively pursuing CPA preferred

Location: Downtown Northville, MI

Schedule: Full-time, in-office
