Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting with a dedicated Cath Lab unit
  • Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab
  • Adult and geriatric patient population, middle and older adult age competencies required
  • Procedures include cardiac implant closure device, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
  • Uses Cerner charting system
  • 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Works 2-3 weekends per contract
  • No floating within scope required beyond hospital or affiliate facilities as needed
  • Call required on a rotating basis with staff and agency, supported by a dedicated call team

Requirements

  • ACLS, BLS, ARRT (R), and RCIS (CCI) certifications required; ARRT (R) preferred over RCIS
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Experience with equipment setup and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Skilled in isolation precautions and sterile technique
  • Active Illinois license required at time of consideration
  • License required if applicable

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating during procedures, equipment setup, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
  • Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a travel candidate
  • Floating required for all travelers, including to nearby affiliate facilities
  • RTO ideally limited to 5 days or fewer per contract
  • Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
  • Scrubs are provided
  • 1,000+ bed Magnet-designated, Level I trauma acute care hospital
  • Travel pairs not accepted
