CV Resources is hiring a Payroll Accountant for a growing, employee-owned organization in Meridian. You'll own payroll for a 600-person, multistate workforce and support the corporate accounting team with close, reconciliations, and reporting. A day in the life

• Running weekly and biweekly payrolls across several states, from validating hours and deductions to final approval
• Keeping the company compliant with federal, state, and local payroll tax and wage and hour rules
• Handling certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting
• Reconciling payroll tax filings at quarter-end and year-end, including W-2s
• Booking journal entries, reconciling accounts, and helping the team through month-end and year-end close
• Maintaining fixed asset schedules and preparing sales, use, and excise tax returns
• Spotting opportunities to streamline payroll processes and controls

You might be a fit if you have

• 5+ years of hands-on multistate payroll experience
• A solid accounting foundation, with experience in journal entries, reconciliations, and close support
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax and compliance requirements
• A detail-oriented, deadline-driven approach and the discretion to handle sensitive information
• A degree in accounting or finance (preferred, not required)

Extra credit: payroll system implementation experience, certified payroll, Paylocity, or Deltek.
