Job Title: Automatics Operator
Location: Grantsburg, WI
Pay Range: $25.00-$28.00/hour
Shift: 1st, 2nd and 3rd available
What's the Job?
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude while following safety best practices, including wearing appropriate PPE, practicing Behavior Based Safety, and performing LOTO.
- Operate, set up, and adjust multi-spindle automatic screw machines and/or NoCAMs by planning operational sequences and selecting spindle speeds, collets, tooling, tool arrangement, clearances, feed rates, cams, and settings for both new/unusual work and standardized variations.
- Install collets, set and secure tooling holders, set tooling stops, cams, and indexing mechanisms; set bar stock feed mechanisms and stops to perform operations such as face, form, turn, drill, ream, bore, tap, thread, and cut off stock up to machine capacity.
- Produce pilot pieces for first piece verification, make adjustments to correct variances, and check parts for dimensional and finish conformance to specifications; notify the lead of any deviations.
- Support quality and continuous improvement by maintaining SPC and EDBTH charting through use of PC, using gauging to verify work, keeping tooling inventoried and organized in mini-cribs, and using ERRs to notify engineering and management of items to be reviewed.
What's Needed?
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work from fairly complicated drawings, engineering specifications, layouts, and other operating instructions.
- Strong shop mathematics skills and the ability to use handbook formulas and precision measuring instruments.
- Some shop trade knowledge in a specialized field or process equivalent to one to three years of trade training, including the ability to do tool grinding and sharpening.
- Experience performing first article inspection and maintaining quality throughout the production run.
