Job Title: QC Scientist IJob Description

The QC Scientist I serves as a Quality Control Laboratory Analyst responsible for performing routine analytical and microbiological testing in support of quality control operations. This role operates within a regulated laboratory environment, ensuring accurate testing, thorough documentation, and full compliance with applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements. The position is ideal for a highly detail-oriented scientist with strong technical laboratory skills who thrives in a quality-focused, data-driven setting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine analytical testing using HPLC, ICP-MS, UV-Vis spectroscopy, dissolution testing, and other laboratory techniques to support quality control operations.
  • Conduct microbiological testing and support aseptic laboratory operations in accordance with established procedures.
  • Follow all applicable SOPs and adhere to cGMP, GLP, and GDP requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and robust quality standards.
  • Accurately document testing results, maintain complete laboratory records, and uphold data integrity standards at all times.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and basic troubleshooting for analytical instruments and laboratory equipment.
  • Utilize LIMS and other laboratory software systems to manage, track, and report testing data efficiently and accurately.
  • Investigate and report deviations, out-of-specification (OOS) results, and atypical findings in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality enhancement projects within the laboratory and broader quality organization.
  • Collaborate closely with laboratory and quality teams to support production schedules, testing priorities, and product release timelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace that supports safe and efficient operations.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working in a regulated quality control laboratory environment following cGMP and GLP requirements.
  • Proficiency with analytical instrumentation, particularly HPLC, and familiarity with common laboratory testing techniques.
  • Strong understanding of SOP adherence, GDP documentation practices, and quality management systems.
  • Ability to investigate test results, maintain data integrity, and support overall quality operations.
  • Experience with LIMS and other laboratory software systems for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and microbiological testing principles.
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific field.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and laboratory informatics tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation and multiple tasks effectively.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of laboratory work.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for interpreting data and resolving technical issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
