Removal driver

The Removal Driver plays a vital role in supporting families during one of the most difficult moments of their lives. This position is responsible for the respectful, safe, and timely transportation of deceased individuals from homes, hospitals, care facilities, and other locations to the funeral home. The role requires professionalism, compassion, attention to detail, and the ability to represent the funeral home with dignity at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct removals and transfers of deceased individuals from various locations, ensuring all procedures are handled with care, respect, and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
• Drive and maintain removal vehicles, ensuring they are clean, well‐equipped, and operating safely.
• Communicate professionally with families, medical staff, law enforcement, and care facility personnel during removals.
• Assist funeral home staff with tasks such as preparing transportation documents, logging personal effects, and maintaining accurate records.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and use of removal equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the funeral home’s standards of compassion, respect, and discretion.
• Support after-hours or on-call shifts as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Represent the funeral home with professionalism, empathy, and calm presence at all times.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 100 lbs safely and repeatedly.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain composed in emotionally sensitive situations.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Prior experience in a funeral home, medical transport, or similar field is helpful but not required; training provided.
