Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a dependable, experienced Rental Maintenance Technician to handle day-to-day repairs, maintenance requests, property turnovers, and general upkeep of residential rental properties.

This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, works well independently, and is comfortable handling a wide variety of residential repairs. We are looking for a true jack-of-all-trades who can troubleshoot a problem, determine what needs to be done, and complete the repair correctly without needing constant supervision.

Responsibilities include:

• Complete maintenance requests and general property repairs
• Troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, appliance, and other residential maintenance issues
• Repair and replace faucets, toilets, drains, garbage disposals, supply lines, fixtures, switches, outlets, and lighting
• Perform drywall repair, painting, caulking, and touch-up work
• Repair doors, locks, cabinets, trim, flooring, siding, decks, and other building components
• Install or replace appliances, fixtures, hardware, and other materials
• Perform basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
• Complete rental turnovers and make-ready work
• Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential problems before they become larger repairs
• Pick up and purchase materials needed for assigned jobs
• Keep work areas clean and professional
• Maintain company tools and equipment
• Communicate clearly regarding repairs completed, additional work needed, and materials required
• Recognize when a repair should be handled by a licensed or specialized contractor
• Occasionally assist with remodeling or construction projects when maintenance work allows

Qualifications:

• Previous maintenance, handyman, remodeling, or residential construction experience preferred
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general residential repairs
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities
• Dependable and able to show up consistently
• Good communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Comfortable using common hand and power tools
• Ability to lift construction materials, climb ladders, and perform physical work throughout the day
