Operations Manager- Warehouse, Purchasing & Inventory

Hands-on Operations Manager for the U.S. business unit of a global company providing high-security locking solutions through a U.S. dealer network. Responsible for purchasing, inventory, importing, warehouse operations, shipping, facility/equipment, and operational reporting as well as managing six employees. Must be Mechanically inclined.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage domestic and international purchasing, supplier relationships, inventory levels, replenishment, and the flow of imported goods.

· Monitor purchasing and freight costs and identify opportunities to improve cost, efficiency, and supplier performance.

· Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, import documentation, and shipping claims.

· Oversee receiving, storage, light assembly, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, inventory accuracy, aging inventory, and warehouse organization.

· Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies, slow-moving inventory, and other inventory issues.

· Supervise, schedule, train, and support six employees; monitor productivity, accuracy, quality, and daily workload.

· Maintain facilities and equipment; coordinate repairs and maintenance and assist with troubleshooting/repair of key machines and dealers.

· Prepare accurate month-end inventory and operations reports, provide analysis and recommendations to management.

· Provide order-processing backup and work with sales, customer service, accounting, suppliers, and management to resolve operational issues.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of relevant operations, warehouse, purchasing, distribution, or manufacturing experience, with demonstrated supervisory experience.

· Distribution, manufacturing, importing, or warehouse experience required; dealer-facing experience is a plus.

· EXCELLENT Microsoft Excel skills are required. Must be able to independently build and maintain spreadsheets, use formulas, PivotTables and lookups, analyze data, and prepare accurate month-end management reports.

· Experience with SAP or another ERP system; strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Must be a hands-on problem solver who takes ownership and follows issues through to resolution.

· Must be comfortable working in both an office and warehouse environment and actively participating in day-to-day operations when needed.

· Mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment repair is a plus.
