Apartment Porter/ Maintenance Assistant (Part-Time only)

Capital Staffing, Inc. is seeking a dependable and hardworking Apartment Porter to support the cleanliness, appearance, and day-to-day upkeep of an apartment community. The Porter will help maintain the property's grounds, common areas, amenities, and interior units while providing professional and courteous service to residents, supervisors, and vendors.

Location: Barstow, CA
Job Type: Part-Time: 20 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the grounds, curb appeal, clubhouse, amenities, and other common areas of the property.
• Clean and perform basic maintenance in interior units after move-out or as needed.
• Conduct daily property walks to inspect common areas, pending move-in units, and target units to ensure they are clean and market-ready.
• Perform minor interior and exterior repairs, including basic repairs to door locks, appliances, carpets, drapes, and other property items.
• Clean and maintain community rooms, laundry rooms, offices, and public restrooms according to schedule.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies assigned to the property.
• Request and inventory equipment and tools needed to complete maintenance and cleaning duties.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in property maintenance, apartment maintenance, janitorial, groundskeeping, or general maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic cleaning and minor maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read and write.
• Professional and courteous communication skills when interacting with residents, supervisors, and vendors.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid California Driver's License and automobile insurance.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently while also following direction from maintenance and management staff.
• Must be willing to assist at other properties when needed.
• Must be available for occasional after-hours emergencies.
