Project Accountant - Residential Construction

Currently seeking a Project Accountant for a High End Residential General Contractor in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. A minimum of 3 years experience in project accounting is preferred, and construction accounting experience is a required. Experience with Sage is required, with Sage Intacct preferred.

The Role

You'll work directly with the construction department to handle the full billing and payment cycle on high-end residential projects, from client requisitions on G702 to paying subcontractors on time. Accuracy and timing are everything in this role. You'll make sure every requisition, change order, and retainage release is correct and on schedule, and that subcontractor insurance stays current.

Responsibilities of the Senior Project Accountant:

• Prepare monthly client billing and requisitions on G702, and return them to the Project Manager accurately and on time
• Manage, update, and issue the monthly pencil requisition
• Manage purchase orders
• Review all PCOs and RFAs and ensure correct data entry
• Request invoices from subcontractors and ensure correct entry into the system and requisitions
• Calculate retainage per the contract and schedule retainage release on time
• Pay subcontractors on a progress payment schedule after receipt of client payment
• Verify subcontractor insurance requirements, keep COIs in compliance, and make sure renewals come in on time

Qualifications of the Senior Project Accountant:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Sage experience required; Sage Intacct preferred
• Construction or construction management accounting experience a plus
• Detail oriented, organized, and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment
