ATCO Rubber Products | A Mueller Industries Company
- Ultimate Company Culture, Training, Mentoring
- If you want to grow your career you’ve found the right place!
The Opportunity
Ready to take the next step in your engineering career?
ATCO Rubber Products is looking for a Machine Design Engineer with 3–5 years of experience who enjoys designing, building, and improving real equipment—not just sitting behind a computer.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers, machinists, fabricators, electricians, controls specialists, and production teams to design custom machinery and automation from concept through installation.
Just as important, you'll join a supportive team that values collaboration, hands-on learning, training, and professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Design custom industrial machinery and automation equipment
- Create 3D CAD models, drawings, layouts, and bills of materials
- Design machine frames, guarding, fixtures, mechanisms, and material-handling systems
- Select components such as motors, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and linear motion systems
- Work directly with machinists, fabricators, electricians, controls specialists, and production teams
- Support equipment assembly, testing, troubleshooting, installation, and startup
- Improve existing equipment for safety, reliability, productivity, and ease of use
- Help take projects from an idea on paper to equipment operating on the production floor
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
- 3–5 years of machine design, manufacturing, or automation experience
- Experience with Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar 3D CAD software
- Understanding of machine components, power transmission, pneumatics, motors, bearings, gearboxes, and fabrication
- Exposure to machining, welding, sheet metal, assembly, and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with sensors, PLC-controlled equipment, servo systems, robotics, or industrial controls is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to learn
Why ATCO?
This is a great opportunity for an engineer who has built a solid foundation and is ready to develop into a stronger machine-design professional.
You'll get hands-on exposure to the entire equipment-development process, work with experienced technical professionals, and continue building your skills in a company that values training, teamwork, and long-term growth.
If you enjoy seeing something you designed actually being built and put to work, we'd like to talk with you.
We connect people to opportunities!
