Pipe Extrusion Operator

(Slidell, LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Pipe Extrusion Operator to safely operate extrusion and related production equipment while maintaining product quality and following all safety and operating procedures.

Essential Duties:

• Report directly to the Lead Extrusion Operator and Shift Supervision.

• Follow plant safety rules, safety programs, policies, and standard operating procedures.

• Support continuous improvement programs and activities.

• Safely operate pipe extrusion systems and winders.

• Safely operate grinders and forklifts when properly certified and licensed.

• Change screens and perform equipment start-up and shutdown procedures.

• Troubleshoot process equipment and quality-related issues.

• Identify quality products and adjust equipment as needed to maintain quality standards.

• Maintain efficient housekeeping practices.

• Attend required safety, quality, and training meetings.

• Communicate equipment issues to Maintenance personnel.

• Demonstrate knowledge of plant emergency procedures and emergency stops on production lines.

• Support the preventive maintenance program.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Operations Management.

Requirements/Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience working in a safety-focused environment.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.

• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to safely operate production equipment and follow established procedures.

• Forklift certification/license preferred or required when operating a forklift.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely perform duties in a manufacturing/production environment.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

• Ability to safely operate and work around industrial machinery and equipment.

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including day and night shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
