Job Description
About the Opportunity
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Employment-Based Immigration Associate Attorney to join its growing immigration practice in either Pittsburgh or Detroit.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 3–5 years of employment-based immigration experience who enjoys working directly with corporate clients and wants to take an active role in managing client relationships and complex immigration matters.
You will serve as a trusted legal and strategic advisor to corporate clients while working alongside experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal support professionals.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and growing employment-based immigration practice where you'll have meaningful client interaction and responsibility.
Rather than simply processing cases, you'll have the opportunity to manage client relationships, provide strategic immigration guidance, and work across a broad range of employment-based immigration matters while being supported by an experienced legal team.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a primary legal and strategic point of contact for assigned corporate clients.
- Advise clients regarding immigration strategies, timelines, government requirements, and case developments.
- Manage a diverse caseload of employment-based immigration matters.
- Handle matters involving H-1Bs, PERMs, I-140s, Adjustment of Status (AOS), L-1s, TNs, and other employment-based immigration cases.
- Review immigration petitions and applications prepared by paralegals and legal support staff.
- Draft legal support letters and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs).
- Lead regular client status calls and handle client escalations when necessary.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, immigration program reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
- Assist clients with petitions and applications submitted to USCIS.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide responsive, high-quality client service.
What We're Looking For
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
- 3–5 years of employment-based immigration experience.
- Hands-on experience with H-1Bs, PERMs, I-140s, AOS, L-1s, and TNs.
- PERM experience is required.
- Experience working directly with and advising corporate clients.
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple matters and competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
- Solid academic credentials.
Compensation
Base Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annually
Actual compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, internal equity, and market considerations.
The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
Benefits

- Medical insurance
- Dental and vision insurance
- HSA/FSA options
- Short-term and long-term disability coverage
- Life insurance
