About this job
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Data Center Site Lead to lead day-to-day onsite operations in a high-density, mission-critical data center environment. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for coordinating onsite activities, providing direction to Data Center Technicians, and serving as a primary point of escalation for infrastructure issues. The Site Lead will support server, networking, power, and cooling infrastructure, including direct-to-chip liquid cooling (DLC) systems and Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs).
The ideal candidate brings strong data center operations experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to keep people, priorities, and technical work moving in a fast-paced environment.
This will be full-time, temp contracts. 4 month project starting on 10/15.
About the Role:
- Lead daily onsite data center operations and provide technical direction and support to Data Center Technicians.
- Coordinate technician priorities, work assignments, ticket queues, maintenance activities, and shift handoffs.
- Oversee installation, rack-and-stack, cabling, deployment, troubleshooting, break/fix, and decommissioning of high-density compute and networking infrastructure.
- Support direct-to-chip liquid cooling (DLC) environments, including CDUs, cooling loops, manifolds, hoses, quick disconnects, and associated monitoring systems.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate response to liquid-cooling alarms, leaks, flow or pressure issues, temperature abnormalities, and CDU-related incidents.
- Monitor infrastructure and environmental conditions, including power, cooling, temperature, humidity, and hardware health.
- Lead incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause investigation, escalation, and resolution of critical infrastructure issues.
- Coordinate onsite activities across engineering, networking, facilities, vendors, logistics, and remote operations teams.
- Serve as a primary onsite technical escalation point and communicate status, risks, and operational issues to appropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation, asset records, ticket updates, change-control procedures, SOPs/MOPs, and operational reporting.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with established safety procedures and operational standards, particularly around electrical, mechanical, and liquid-cooled infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in data center operations, infrastructure, or another mission-critical technical environment.
- Experience leading technicians, coordinating onsite technical work, or serving as a technical lead/escalation point.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of servers, GPU/high-density compute systems, networking equipment, structured cabling, rack infrastructure, and power distribution.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, network connectivity, power, cooling, and environmental infrastructure.
- Experience with ticketing systems, DCIM, asset management, change management, and operational documentation.
- Ability to coordinate multiple technical teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a 24x7 mission-critical data center environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting high-density compute, GPU, AI/HPC, or liquid-cooled data center environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of direct-to-chip liquid cooling (DLC) systems.
- Working knowledge of Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), cooling loops, manifolds, quick disconnects, leak detection, and flow/pressure monitoring.
- Experience responding to liquid-cooling alarms, leaks, temperature abnormalities, and other cooling-related incidents.
- Experience working closely with facilities, mechanical, electrical, networking, and engineering teams in a production data center environment.
What Success Looks Like
You are someone who can walk into a busy data center, understand what needs attention, organize the work, and keep the team moving. You are comfortable being hands-on when needed, but you can also step back and coordinate technicians, vendors, facilities, and engineering teams during complex deployments or critical incidents.
Most importantly, you take ownership of the site—keeping operations safe, organized, documented, and running reliably while making sure the onsite team has the direction and support they need.
We are a services-based company, providing engineering and infrastructure solutions to industries impacting and enhancing the daily lives of people across the country.
