Attorney/Lawyer

We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join a legal team in Baltimore, Maryland, with a focus on insurance-related matters and civil defense work. This role is suited for a licensed attorney who can evaluate legal issues, interpret contractual language, and produce well-supported written work for litigation matters. The position offers the opportunity to handle complex research and analysis while contributing to case strategy and client representation.

Responsibilities:
• Manage insurance defense and coverage matters from initial assessment through ongoing litigation activity.
• Prepare persuasive motions, briefs, and other legal filings supported by thorough research and sound legal reasoning.
• Conduct detailed legal analysis to assess claims, defenses, and case exposure in civil litigation matters.
• Review contracts, policy language, and related documents to identify obligations, risks, and compliance considerations.
• Handle discovery tasks, including drafting responses, evaluating produced materials, and supporting case development.
• Research statutes, case law, and regulatory guidance to provide practical recommendations for legal strategy.
• Interpret applicable laws and contractual provisions to advise on coverage questions and dispute resolution approaches.

• Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law.

• 1-5 years of experience in insurance coverage, insurance defense, or closely related civil litigation work.

• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents with clarity and precision.

• Strong background in legal research, written analysis, and interpretation of statutes and case law.

• Experience managing discovery responsibilities in contested matters.

• Ability to review contracts and policy documents and assess compliance or legal risk issues.

• Solid understanding of civil litigation procedure and effective case management practices.
