Job Description
Step into a rewarding role supporting K-8 students for a full school year in a dynamic educational environment. As a contracted school psychologist, you will provide vital counseling and assessment services to a diverse group of young learners, helping to foster their cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
You’ll work closely with educators, students, administrators, and families, utilizing your expertise to create positive change for approximately 670 students across Kindergarten to 8th grade. Candidates with prior experience serving K-8 populations will shine in this role.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
- Possess a current South Carolina School Psychologist certification
- Demonstrated background in both counseling and psychological assessments in school settings
- Strong ability to communicate and build rapport with students, staff, and parents
- In-depth understanding of mental health concerns in children and adolescents
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students’ development
- Offer both individual and group counseling to students experiencing mental health challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address academic, behavioral, and social concerns
- Develop and execute targeted interventions for students exhibiting emotional or behavioral difficulties
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, shaping meaningful goals for student growth
- Provide crisis intervention and ongoing support as needed
- Educate school staff and families about mental health resources and best practices
- Keep thorough and confidential records of assessments and interventions
- Handle additional school psychology duties as assigned
