About this job
Job Description
We are looking for an early-career legal team member to support a litigation practice focused on defense matters. This opportunity is well suited for a law clerk who has graduated law school and (preferably) written the bar exam, or entry-level attorney who wants hands-on exposure to civil litigation in a collaborative setting. The firm handles a range of general civil disputes and is prepared to provide guidance and development for someone building foundational litigation experience.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with drafting motions, memoranda, and other court filings for civil defense cases.
• Support attorneys in preparing case strategy, legal research, and written analysis for active litigation matters.
• Help manage discovery tasks, including reviewing documents, preparing responses, and organizing case materials.
• Contribute to the development of briefs and other persuasive written submissions for court proceedings.
• Track deadlines, maintain litigation files, and help ensure matters move forward in a timely manner.
• Communicate with attorneys, clients, and other legal team members regarding case updates and required documentation.
• Participate in a hybrid work environment while maintaining consistent collaboration and responsiveness across matters.
• 0-5 years of experience in a law clerk or litigation-focused legal role.
• Background or strong interest in civil litigation, particularly defense-oriented matters.
• Ability to draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with discovery processes and case file management.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Licensed attorney status (Arizona) is welcome for entry-level attorney candidates, though early-career law clerk applicants will also be considered.
