JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Interventional Radiology Neuro Rad Tech
• Profession: Allied Health
• Specialty: Interventional Radiology / Neuro
• Job Type: Contract/Travel
• Location: Rochester, NY
• Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, Days
• Call: 1–2 times/week and 1–2 weekends/month
• Weekend/Holiday: As required by unit
• Callback: As required by unit
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Active New York Radiologic Technologist license
• BLS – American Heart Association only
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Neurosurgery/Neuroscience experience required
• Interventional Radiology experience preferred
• Candidates from other radiology modalities may be considered; the unit typically provides up to 6 months of Neuro IR training
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform diagnostic-quality radiographic imaging using appropriate exposure factors and positioning.
• Prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
• Assist radiologists during interventional procedures.
• Operate X-ray, CR, and DR systems.
• Administer oral contrast as required.
• Monitor and report equipment malfunctions.
• Use HIS, RIS, and PACS for documentation and information management.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and medication security.
• Provide care to patients across all age groups.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, patients, and hospital personnel.
