Job Description
This role focuses on grinding forged metals and alloys, supporting metal fabrication and forging operations, and performing general shop labor in a manufacturing environment. You will use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to ensure products meet quality and dimensional specifications while contributing to efficient production processes.
Responsibilities- Grind forged metals and alloys to specified dimensions and finishes using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Measure materials accurately using measuring tapes, micrometers, and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Support metal fabrication activities, including cutting, shaping, and forming metal components as needed.
- Assist with forging operations, including handling, positioning, and processing forged materials.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for grinding, forming, and general shop tasks.
- Perform general labor duties in the shop, such as material handling, staging parts, and maintaining work areas.
- Operate production machinery and equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Inspect workpieces during and after processing to ensure they meet quality and production standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Experience grinding forged metals and alloys in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools such as measuring tapes, micrometers, and calipers to verify dimensions.
- Hands-on experience with metal fabrication processes, including basic cutting, shaping, and forming.
- Familiarity with forging operations and working in a forging environment (experience in a forging environment preferred).
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for grinding and general shop work.
- Experience with machine operation and production work in a manufacturing environment.
- Capability to perform general labor tasks, including material handling and shop support.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and production specifications.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work area.
- Previous experience in a forging or metalworking manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Comfort working with metal forming processes and equipment.
- Ability to learn new machines and tools as production needs evolve.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to support various shop tasks as needed.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a manufacturing facility focused on metal forging and fabrication. You will work around industrial equipment, grinding stations, and production machinery, handling forged metals and alloys throughout your shift. The facility operates on two primary shifts: first shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and second shift runs from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The work involves standing for extended periods, working near machinery, and using hand and power tools in an industrial shop setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
