Special Education Teacher - Norwalk, Connecticut

In this full-time contract position, you’ll work with K-12 students, delivering individualized academic, behavioral, and emotional support across diverse programs with varying levels of need. Your Qualifications:

• Active Connecticut teaching certificate with Comprehensive Special Education endorsement #165.
• Bachelor’s degree, completion of an approved Special Education preparation program, and fulfillment of all CT testing/eligibility requirements.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customized instruction and support to K-12 students with special needs, adapting to various academic, behavioral, and emotional program requirements.
• Manage a caseload ranging from 8 to 20 students, delivering targeted interventions and documenting progress in line with individualized education plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, therapists, and parents, to ensure coordinated, holistic support for each student.
• Develop and implement strategies to reinforce positive behaviors and foster inclusive classroom environments.
• Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain compliance with district policies and state/federal special education regulations.
