Patient Service Representative
Location: Irving, TX – Onsite
Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
Certification/License: Not required
TRICARE: No
Interview: In person
Dress Code: Business casual
Preferred: Bilingual and strong multitasking ability
The Patient Service Representative will support a high-volume healthcare call environment by handling inbound calls from patients and providers, scheduling appointments, answering general inquiries, documenting interactions accurately, and assisting with care coordination. The team currently consists of approximately 75 staff members and is seeking someone who is adaptable, dependable, patient-focused, and willing to support both patients and coworkers.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls from patients and providers regarding appointments and general questions.
- Schedule, track, and update patient appointments.
- Route or refer calls to providers according to established protocols.
- Accurately document patient and provider interactions.
- Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and care coordination.
- Communicate with patients, providers, and pharmacies as needed.
- Escalate issues according to established procedures.
- Demonstrate empathy, active listening, professionalism, and strong telephone etiquette.
- Manage calls efficiently while ensuring each inquiry is completely addressed.
- Meet established quality, productivity, and attendance expectations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will have healthcare customer service, medical call center, patient scheduling, patient access, medical front desk, or healthcare contact-center experience. Experience handling high-volume inbound calls and working with patients is particularly valuable.
Preferred qualifications: Bilingual candidates, especially English/Spanish, and candidates who can effectively multitask while documenting and communicating with patients.
