Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients across a newborn-to-geriatric population in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
• Participate in patient and family teaching, ensuring patient rights and privacy are protected throughout the care process
• Collaborate cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff and interdisciplinary patient care team members to maintain professional nursing standards
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards as defined by the ANA Code for Nurses, the ANA Nursing's Social Policy Statement, and applicable state and regulatory guidelines
• Maintain accountability to regulatory agency standards including AOA, HCFA Conditions of Participation, and MIOSHA requirements
• Manage an expected patient ratio of 4:1 within a 10-bed Emergency Department

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience — required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS or ENPC certification required (ENPC accepted in place of PALS)
• TNCC certification required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Must reside more than 35 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard traveler rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with a broad patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric
• Familiarity with Paragon EMR
• Experience in a high-acuity Emergency Department environment managing both minor and severe injuries and illnesses
