Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Abilene, TX | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a heavy focus on orthopedic and general surgery patients
• Float within like units as needed and potentially to a sister campus
• Complete orientation modules during the onboarding period (approximately 6–8 hours, non-billable)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation; Altera (formerly Allscripts) charting experience preferred
• Adhere to all facility compliance requirements, including mandatory drug screening upon arrival

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in hand required at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry
• Certification verification required
• Must be available to complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting an offer, or have a plan in place for completion within that timeframe
• Candidates must reside more than 150 miles from the facility to be eligible (local candidates are not accepted)
• Previous permanent staff at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year prior to returning as a traveler
• Facility conducts a mandatory drug screen upon arrival, including screening for marijuana and CBD products; a positive result will result in automatic cancellation with no exceptions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Altera charting system preferred
