TRC Talent Solutions client is a pharmaceutical distribution operation in Durham, NC, and they are seeking an Inventory Optimization Coordinator on a direct hire basis.

This is a hands-on role combining inventory analysis, warehouse operations, process improvement, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will be comfortable analyzing inventory and replenishment reports at a desk while also spending significant time on the warehouse floor identifying issues, implementing solutions, and supporting the inventory team.

Responsibilities
-Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts and cycle-count processes, ensuring inventory accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
-Analyze inventory slotting and product locations to ensure products are positioned efficiently based on usage, velocity, size, weight, and operational needs.
-Review velocity, replenishment, and inventory reports to identify trends and opportunities to improve warehouse productivity.
-Maintain appropriate inventory min/max levels and ensure inventory locations remain properly replenished.
-Investigate inventory variances, identify root causes, complete necessary adjustments, and recommend process improvements.
-Partner with Purchasing to review new products, establish appropriate warehouse locations, and manage discontinued items and product changes.
-Develop, update, and maintain SOPs and best practices related to inventory, replenishment, cycle counts, and warehouse processes.
-Provide daily direction, training, development, and performance feedback to Inventory Associates.
-Lead the annual physical inventory process, including planning, scheduling, preparation, and execution.
-Utilize inventory data and Pareto analysis to identify recurring discrepancies and improve overall inventory accuracy.
-Ensure damaged, misplaced, expired, quarantined, and hazardous products are handled and stored appropriately.
-Partner with Customer Service, Purchasing, Accounting, and Operations to resolve inventory issues and support operational initiatives.
-Assist Operations Management with special projects and provide supervisory coverage as needed.


Qualifications
-Previous experience in inventory control, inventory management, warehouse operations, distribution, or supply chain.
-Strong understanding of cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, replenishment, slotting, and discrepancy resolution.
-Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory and operational reports and translate findings into process improvements.
-Experience developing or following SOPs and standardized inventory processes.
-Comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment while also performing administrative and analytical responsibilities.
-Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical distribution, or another regulated distribution environment is a plus.
