Pay: Starting at $16.00/hr+ (depending on experience)
Schedule: Typically 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. During peak season, hours may extend to 9:00 PM or later based on business demands.
About the RoleWhen peanut season is in full swing, the scalehouse becomes the heartbeat of our agricultural facility. As the Harvest Scalehouse Coordinator, you’ll be the steady hand guiding inbound and outbound trucks, ensuring every load is weighed correctly, every ticket is accurate, and every crop and customer record remains crystal clear. This seasonal role calls for a calm, organized problem-solver who thrives under pressure and works confidently with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do- Operate inbound and outbound truck scales to precisely weigh vehicles arriving and departing.
- Verify, capture, and maintain detailed crop and load information without errors.
- Process high volumes of data in company systems quickly and accurately.
- Create and maintain load tickets, batch records, and required documentation.
- Safeguard product integrity by keeping crops, lots, and customer information correctly identified and separated.
- Receive customer orders and enter them into tracking and inventory systems.
- Monitor scale activity and coordinate truck flow across the facility to minimize bottlenecks.
- File paperwork and keep records organized for audits and operational tracking.
- Answer phones and support customers, truck drivers, and visitors with professionalism.
- Communicate status updates and documentation needs to drivers, production personnel, and management.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in paperwork, weights, or load information.
- Assist with additional clerical and operational tasks as peak season demands.
- Previous data entry experience.
- Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
- Comfort making decisions and working independently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with computers and common office software.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Background in a scale house, logistics, agricultural, warehouse, transportation, or shipping/receiving environment.
- Experience with inventory tracking or load management systems.
- Track record of sustaining accuracy while handling high-volume data entry.
- Fast-paced, seasonal operation with periods of heavy truck traffic.
- Frequent interaction with truck drivers, customers, and facility teams.
- Requires sustained accuracy and organization while juggling multiple tasks.
- Remaining calm under pressure is essential to prevent costly documentation or crop errors.
You’re exceptionally organized and detail-focused, able to maintain accuracy during busy stretches. You’re comfortable working solo, can manage two scales at once when needed, and understand the importance of precise documentation and product integrity when handling agricultural products and customer records.
