About this job
Job Description
You open the morning by scanning overnight production data and spotting a trend worth digging into. Coffee in hand, you head straight to the line—talking with operators, checking yields, and watching fiber stream through each station. By midday, you’re dialing in a setup for a new product trial, partnering with Maintenance on an equipment tweak, and capturing notes for an SOP update. In the afternoon, you facilitate a quick root‑cause huddle, convert findings into a Lean action plan, and hand off a training one‑pager to the shift lead. It’s hands‑on, fast, and deeply connected to how product quality, stability, and throughput come to life.
What You’ll Tackle- Investigate manufacturing trends and translate insights into on‑the‑floor improvements
- Keep product flowing through every stage with direct, daily shop‑floor engagement
- Drive process enhancements that lift efficiency, stability, and quality
- Partner with production teams to optimize equipment performance and resolve issues
- Run and support new product trials and incremental process upgrades
- Assist with troubleshooting, machine setups, and equipment upgrades
- Analyze production data to uncover and prioritize improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production to align actions
- Create training materials, SOPs, and technical documentation
- Advance continuous improvement using Lean, 6S, and root‑cause analysis
- Own ongoing projects that require consistent follow‑through and proactive problem‑solving
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related)
- 0–3 years of manufacturing experience
- Strong analytical mindset and practical problem‑solving ability
- Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn
- Comfortable working on the production floor and engaging across departments
- Thrive in a fast‑moving manufacturing setting
- Nice to have: exposure to fiber optics or wire & cable manufacturing, ERP systems, Excel, or Minitab
Work at the heart of advanced fiber‑optic cable manufacturing where your decisions directly influence output and quality. You’ll gain meaningful experience, collaborate with seasoned engineers and cross‑functional teams, and take ownership of projects that matter. If you want to accelerate your learning, build real‑world manufacturing expertise, and grow into larger responsibilities, this is your launchpad.
Ready to build your engineering career with a global leader—and stay close to the process where impact is immediate? We’d love to meet you.
