Job Description
The Lead Aircraft Inventory Control professional (Material Handler) oversees the accurate receiving, storage, control, movement, distribution, and shipment of aircraft parts, components, tooling, consumables, and related materials. This role supports Maintenance, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Production teams by ensuring all materials are properly identified, documented, stored, and available when needed. The position is directly accountable for inventory accuracy, material traceability, stockroom organization, and timely material flow in full compliance with company Quality and Safety standards and applicable aviation requirements. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, process, store, and distribute aircraft parts, components, tooling, consumables, and related materials while maintaining complete and accurate documentation and traceability.
- Pull, pick, stage, issue, and deliver materials to support scheduled, unscheduled, and AOG maintenance requirements, ensuring timely availability of parts.
- Perform shipping and receiving activities, including verification of part and serial numbers, quantities, documentation, condition, packaging, and preparation of outbound shipments.
- Maintain accurate inventory quantities and locations by completing material receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and shipping transactions in a timely and precise manner.
- Conduct cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits; research discrepancies, report findings, and assist with implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure proper identification and segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, quarantine, customer-owned, consignment, core, shelf-life, hazardous, and other controlled materials.
- Process material returns, vendor and repair shipments, cores, and customer-owned materials while maintaining required documentation and control throughout the process.
- Maintain clean, safe, organized, and clearly labeled stockroom, shipping, receiving, and staging areas in accordance with established safety standards.
- Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Production, Vendors, and AOG/MRT teams to resolve material requirements, shortages, and discrepancies.
- Follow company Quality and Safety procedures and applicable FAA, OSHA, HAZMAT/Dangerous Goods, shelf-life, and material-handling requirements, supporting audits and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Lead and guide crew activities related to material handling and inventory control, promoting effective teamwork and adherence to procedures.
- Utilize computer systems and Excel-based databases to manage inventory records, track material movement, and support reporting needs.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience with aircraft material handling and aviation parts inventory control.
- 13 years of experience in materials, inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or parts operations preferred.
- Previous cycle-count and inventory-control experience preferred.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead and coordinate a material handling crew.
- Proficiency in computer operation, including use of Excel and database tools for inventory management.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure material traceability.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accountability for data integrity and material control.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain well-structured stockroom and staging areas.
- Clear and effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate strong teamwork in a fast-paced operational environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Aviation industry background or experience with aircraft parts is a plus.
- Familiarity with FAA, OSHA, HAZMAT/Dangerous Goods, shelf-life, and material-handling requirements is beneficial.
- Experience supporting audits and continuous-improvement initiatives in a regulated environment.
- Ability to interpret and work with part numbers, serial numbers, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills to research inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Okmulgee, OK.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
