Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Rotate with Regular Staff

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of no more than 1:5, serving a diverse patient population including cardiac, respiratory, orthopedic, post-surgical, pediatric, and detox patients
• Document telemetry readings faxed from the ICU; RNs are not required to independently read tele strips
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy for management of CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
• Float to assist other units as a tasker or extra set of hands as needed
• Work alongside LPNs, nurse aides (3 per shift), and a House Supervisor who manages assignments
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license valid in Maryland
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Strong Med/Surg background with experience managing a high-acuity, varied patient population

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification (recommended but not required)
• Experience with block scheduling or flexibility with manager-directed scheduling
• Familiarity with common Med/Surg diagnoses including CHF, pneumonia, pancreatitis, and post-operative care
