Imagine Staffing is recruiting for a Software Engineer III on behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Buffalo, NY, serving individuals, businesses, and communities across the eastern United States. Known for its strong regional presence, commitment to community engagement, and focus on long-term customer relationships, the organization offers a stable and collaborative work environment with opportunities for growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing designs, specifies information systems solutions and the highest-level technical direction in the development of new or existing applications to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements. Serves as a principal application designer for critical components and major modifications effectively using analytical and technical skills, available technology and tools in the evaluation of client requirements and processes. Provides solutions that are technologically sound. Often directs and monitors the activities of less experienced personnel.
Role & Responsibility:
Tasks That Will Lead to Your Success
- Design, develop, test, and support enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native solutions using modern .NET, C#, Angular/React, SQL Server, and Azure services. Build scalable, secure, and resilient solutions leveraging Azure App Services, Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Azure SQL, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software engineering, including tools such as GitHub Copilot, Azure AI Foundry/OpenAI, prompt engineering, AI-enabled testing, code generation, debugging, and developer productivity workflows.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and production-ready implementations.
- Implement automated testing, observability, security controls, and operational best practices across the SDLC.
- Participate in code reviews, root cause analysis, production support, modernization efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Qualifications That Will Help You Thrive
- 5+ years (SE2) or 8+ years (SE3) of software engineering experience with strong Azure cloud implementation experience.
- Active Microsoft Azure certification above Fundamentals level (e.g., Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions
- Architect Expert, Azure AI Engineer Associate, DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent).
- AI-enabled application development.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Financial services experience, cloud modernization
