- Coordinate the new-hire process: send offer paperwork, run background checks and I-9 verification, schedule orientation, and prepare first-day materials.
- Maintain employee records and personnel files in the HRIS, keeping data accurate, confidential, and audit-ready.
- Post jobs, screen applications for basic requirements, schedule interviews, and keep candidates informed.
- Process employee status changes, such as promotions, transfers, and terminations, and handle offboarding steps including exit paperwork and equipment return.
- Answer routine questions on benefits, PTO, payroll, and policies, and route complex issues to the HR Director.
- Assist with open enrollment, benefits eligibility, and enrollment changes.
- Assist with payroll processing including gathering extra pay, auditing taxes, and ensuring an accurate payroll.
- Prepare HR documents, letters, and reports, and help track headcount, turnover, and training/certification completion.
- Schedule and support HR events, trainings, and employee recognition programs.
- Support compliance tasks such as posting required notices and preparing data for audits.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team and any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
- HR certification such as aPHR, PHR, SHRM etc., is a plus.
- 1 to 2 years of administrative or HR support experience (internships count).
- Basic understanding of HR processes and employment regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; HRIS experience a plus.
- Careful attention to detail and accuracy with records and data entry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and a friendly, professional manner.
- Reliable handling of confidential information.
- Strong organization, time management, and follow-through; this is a position for task executors.
Working conditions
Primarily office desk work during regular business hours, with occasional but limited overtime during peak periods such as open enrollment or hiring surges.
