Trauma / Acute Care Surgeon
Assignment Details
Location: Bellingham, Washington
Provider Type: Physician (MD/DO)
Specialty: Trauma / Acute Care Surgery
Practice Setting: Inpatient + Outpatient
Start Date: ASAP, No Later Than January 2027
Expected Duration: Approximately 6 Months
Coverage Need: 3.0 FTE
EMR: Epic
Compensation: Hourly Rate: $425/hr, Overtime: $530/hr, Holiday: $635/hr, Night Call: $850/shift, Call Back: $540/hr.
Schedule
Day and Night Coverage
12-Hour Onsite Shifts
12 Hours of Backup Call Following Onsite Coverage
Coverage Needed for Up to 6 Shifts Per Week
Rounding and Admissions Required
Patient Population / Volume
Acute Care Surgery and Trauma Patients
Coverage Includes Emergency Department, Operating Room, and ICU
Approximately 24 Patients Per Day
Hospital Size: 241 Beds
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Coverage
Provide Emergency Department Trauma Coverage
Provide Operating Room Coverage
Provide ICU Coverage
Perform Rounding and Admissions
Perform All Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Procedures
Manage Acute Surgical and Trauma Patients
Clinical Environment / Support
Provider May Work Independently
Daytime APP Support Available
Provider Works Solo Overnight
Epic EMR
Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgery - Required
ATLS - Required
Washington Medical License Highly Preferred Due to Urgent Start
Candidates Requiring Washington Licensure May Be Considered
IMLC Accepted
Epic Proficiency - Required
COVID-19 Vaccination - Required, No Exemptions
Must Have Documented 50 Trauma Cases Within the Previous 5 Years for Review by the Trauma Medical Director
Recent Clinical Activity Requirements
Documentation of Major Operative Experience Required
Recent Clinical Activity From the Previous 12-24 Months Must Be Provided
Recent Residency Graduates May Submit Residency Case Logs
Experienced Physicians May Submit a Current Hospital Quality Profile Showing Clinical Activity, Procedures, Morbidity, Mortality, Infection Rates, and Other Complications
If a Quality Profile Is Unavailable, Documentation of Hospital-Based Clinical Activity From the Previous 12 Months May Be Submitted
All Trauma Cases During the First Year Are Subject to Peer Review in Conjunction With the Trauma Quality Improvement Program
