Job Summary
Are you mechanically inclined with experience operating metal fabrication equipment and TIG welding aluminum? We're seeking a dependable Machine Operator / TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team in Holland, MI. In this role, you'll primarily operate a press brake or hydraulic bending machine to bend and form materials while performing occasional TIG welding on aluminum as production needs require.
The ideal candidate has previous fabrication equipment experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to produce high-quality aluminum TIG welds.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Machine Operator / TIG Welder, your core responsibilities will include:
- Machine Operation: Operate a press brake or hydraulic bending machine to bend and form materials according to production requirements.
- Equipment Setup: Prepare and adjust fabrication equipment as needed for assigned production tasks.
- TIG Welding: Perform TIG welding on aluminum a few times per month based on production needs.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect completed parts and welds to ensure they meet established quality standards.
- Production Support: Complete assigned machine operation and welding tasks to maintain efficient production workflow.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area while following established machine operation and welding safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a press brake, hydraulic bending machine, or similar fabrication equipment required.
- Previous TIG welding experience.
- Ability to perform TIG welding on aluminum.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
Skills
- Press Brake / Bending Equipment: Experience operating machinery used to bend and form metal materials.
- TIG Welding: Ability to perform quality TIG welds on aluminum as needed.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable operating, adjusting, and working with fabrication machinery.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and quality throughout the production process.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify basic equipment or production issues and respond appropriately.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other production team members.
- Safety Awareness: Ability to follow established machine operation and welding safety procedures.
