Job Title: Quality Assurance TechnicianJob Description

The Quality Assurance Technician works in a pharmaceutical laboratory setting and supports day-to-day quality control operations. Under the direction of laboratory management, this individual prepares solutions and mobile phases, performs routine equipment calibrations, manages samples and documentation in accordance with GMP standards, and helps maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare mobile phases, diluents, and dissolution media in accordance with established laboratory procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform daily calibration of pH meters, balances, dissolution apparatus, and other assigned laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Clean dissolution baths and maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization throughout the laboratory.
  • Collect samples from the vault based on the testing schedule or plan, following analyst and management requirements.
  • Receive samples and perform data entry for assignment numbers, including filing and organization of records, while maintaining raw material, finished product, and sample logbooks.
  • Issue specification sheets when required for analysis and ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with GMP requirements.
  • Maintain and manage samples that are received and released, including stability, finished product, in-process, raw materials, and validation samples.
  • Create labels, maintain files for each sample, and submit documentation to Quality Assurance as required.
  • Remove released samples from the appropriate storage areas and dispose of them according to standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies and chemical inventory, ensuring that required materials are available and properly stored.
  • Check expiration dates of standards and chemicals, remove expired materials and waste solvents, and dispose of them in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collect and wash laboratory glassware and utensils on a daily basis to support ongoing testing activities.
  • Replace and organize cleaned glassware and utensils in designated storage locations to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Conduct cleaning of equipment, glassware, and laboratory supplies, and carry out general organizing activities in the laboratory as assigned.
  • Use computer applications and programs related to laboratory operations for data entry, documentation, and basic analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory management to support quality control and laboratory operations.
Essential Skills
  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Chemistry.
  • At least 1 year of documentation and GMP experience in a laboratory or quality control environment.
  • Hands-on experience with wet chemistry techniques, including titration and sample preparation.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical testing and quality control principles.
  • Basic knowledge of chromatography and spectroscopic techniques, including HPLC, GC, and FTIR.
  • Ability to work with dissolution testing and related laboratory apparatus.
  • Strong attention to detail and a sharp, proactive mindset with a go-getter attitude.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate, organized records.
  • Basic mathematics skills, including familiarity with statistics relevant to laboratory data.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively in a laboratory team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or contract manufacturing laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and programs specifically related to laboratory data and quality systems.
  • Familiarity with sample preparation techniques for raw materials, in-process, finished product, stability, and validation testing.
  • Understanding of spectroscopic techniques and chromatographic systems used in quality control testing.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, growing organization with evolving processes and new facilities.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple samples, logbooks, and documentation simultaneously.
Work Environment

This role is based in a modern pharmaceutical laboratory setting within a new facility. The laboratory team consists of approximately ten people, offering a collaborative environment where technicians, analysts, and quality professionals work closely together. The work involves regular use of laboratory instrumentation such as pH meters, balances, dissolution apparatus, HPLC, GC, FTIR, and other wet chemistry equipment, as well as standard computer applications for data entry and documentation. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and adherence to GMP and SOPs, with routine handling of chemicals, standards, and solvents. The organization is a growing contract manufacturing operation, providing opportunities to contribute to a high-performing quality function in an expanding facility. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
