Driver - Community Center

Blendon Township Community Senior Center is seeking a dependable, courteous, and compassionate Community Center Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for older adults traveling to and from the Senior Center, medical appointments, community programs, shopping trips, outings, and other approved destinations. This full-time role with excellent pay and government benefits is ideal for someone who is patient, safety-focused, friendly, dependable, and genuinely enjoys working with older adults. In addition to driving a passenger van and shuttle bus, the driver will assist with daily Senior Center operations as part of a supportive, collaborative team. A warm smile, helping hand, kind conversation, and willingness to go the extra mile can make a meaningful difference in each passenger’s day. CDL-B passenger license required.

Responsibilities

• Transport older adults safely and courteously in passenger vans and shuttle buses.
• Plan efficient routes for appointments, programs, shopping trips, outings, and other approved destinations.
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and other transportation-related needs.
• Coordinate transportation appointments and schedules.
• Maintain accurate trip documentation.
• Provide patient, friendly support to Senior Center passengers.
• Collaborate with the team and assist with a variety of daily Senior Center tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in senior transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement.
• Defensive Driving experience.
• Passenger assistance experience.
• Route planning experience.
• Experience conducting vehicle safety inspections and completing trip documentation.
• Patience and strong customer service skills.
