Position Description:
- The Process Engineer–Ergonomist assists the plant ergonomics program at Michigan Assembly Plant, partnering with production, engineering, safety, medical, labor, and plant leadership to identify and reduce ergonomic risks.
- The role assesses and improves workstations, analyzes injury and medical trends, supports new model launches and process changes, and ensures compliance with the client ergonomics standards.
- Through data analysis, employee training, and cross-functional continuous improvement, this position promotes employee well-being while supporting safety, quality, and operational performance.
Experience Required:
- A bachelor’s degree in ergonomics, engineering, industrial engineering, human factors, kinesiology, occupational health, safety, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in ergonomics, manufacturing or industrial engineering, safety, or a related technical area.
- Experience conducting ergonomic assessments and implementing workplace improvements.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
Experience Preferred: A master’s degree, Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) credential, automotive manufacturing or launch experience, and familiarity with ergonomic simulation tools are preferred, but not required.
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
