About this job
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, personable Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to provide onsite medical care within a premier assisted living community in Sarasota.
The right candidate will become a trusted clinical presence for residents, families, facility staff, and physicians while providing responsive, accurate, and compassionate care.
What We Are Looking For
Prior clinical experience working in Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) is mandatory.
The ideal candidate combines excellent clinical judgment with an approachable personality and exceptional follow-through. You should be someone residents enjoy seeing, families trust, and facility staff feel comfortable approaching when a resident's condition changes.
You must be comfortable caring for medically complex older adults, recognizing subtle changes in condition, and knowing when something can be safely managed onsite versus when a higher level of care is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide scheduled and medically necessary onsite visits to residents.
- Evaluate and manage acute concerns, chronic conditions, medication-related issues, and post-hospital follow-up.
- Perform thorough assessments and develop clear, clinically appropriate treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation.
- Recognize changes in condition early and proactively address potential problems.
- Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, home health, therapy, pharmacy, hospice, and other healthcare providers.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and facility wellness staff.
- Support transitions of care following ER visits, hospitalizations, and rehabilitation stays.
- Follow through on labs, imaging, referrals, medication changes, and other clinical recommendations.
- Respect residents' existing physician relationships while remaining available to address onsite medical needs when appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with facility leadership and care staff to support safe, consistent resident care.
The Person We Want
We are specifically looking for someone who is:
- Warm, approachable, and highly personable, particularly with seniors.
- Clinically accurate, detail-oriented, organized and able to consistently close the loop on outstanding clinical items.
- Calm and confident when caring for medically complex residents.
- Responsive when facility staff raise legitimate clinical concerns.
- Collaborative rather than territorial when working with other physicians and healthcare providers.
- Dependable — if you say something will be done, it gets done.
- Comfortable building strong relationships with residents, families, and facility staff.
- Professional in appearance, communication, and conduct.
- Able to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
- Proactive rather than waiting for problems to escalate.
- Able to balance excellent patient care with the practical realities of an assisted living environment.
Required Qualifications
- Active Florida license in good standing.
- Previous Assisted Living Facility experience — required.
- Experience treating geriatric and medically complex patients.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent documentation and care coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and facility staff.
Experience in primary care, geriatrics, transitional care, home-based medicine, or senior living medicine is strongly preferred.
Schedule
Part-time position with a consistent onsite schedule.
Interested candidates should apply with a copy of their updated resume and salary expectations for immediate consideration.
