University Advancement is seeking (1) Application Developer Lead - Technical to join the already incredible team taking Georgia State University to the next level of excellence!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Leadership:

  • Main responsibility is to assume the lead role on Ascend application for constituent management for Advancement. The product is used to prepare and deliver a variety of interactive and printed reports, necessary to support the development of custom reporting. Assist with the development of a data warehouse strategy and leveraging MS Power BI.

Application Support:

  • Responds to customer report requests and data quality inquires. Includes administration, application troubleshooting, design, programming, and testing.

Business Systems Analysis:

  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding. Includes analysis and documentation of business processes and functional requirements.

  • Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the business environment.

  • Translates functional requirements and prepares detailed report specifications from which reports are written.

Project Management:

  • May also be responsible for serving in the role of project manager for smaller-sized programming projects in developing a project plan/schedule, coordinating the activities of the project team, and reporting project status to both management and customers.

Communication:

  • Consults and collaborates with personnel across the Advancement Department and other technical departments to coordinate activities related to projects assigned

  • Prepares and provides activity and status reports regarding the activities assigned.

Software testing:

  • Conducting investigations and experiments to verify the quality of software to provide an objective, independent view of the software

Other:

  • Individuals will also be required to work occasional nights and weekends, when necessary, travel (via plane, train, or car) at least 15% of the time within and outside of the state of Georgia.

Qualifications
:

Minimum Hiring Standards:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
