Robert Half is currently seeking an experienced Real Estate Accountant to support the financial operations of multiple affiliated entities on the east side of Madison, Wisconsin. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable balancing day-to-day accounting tasks with monthly reporting responsibilities. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate records, manage cash activity, and ensure financial processes are completed on schedule and in line with established standards.


Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting activity for several related real estate and business entities, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.

• Review, code, and post financial transactions to the general ledger with proper supporting documentation.

• Oversee invoice processing and coordinate timely payment of accounts payable obligations.

• Monitor daily cash movement, reconcile bank activity, and maintain reliable cash management practices.

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to support an efficient month-end close process.

• Produce monthly financial statements and related reports with a high level of accuracy and consistency.

• Assist with payroll-related accounting tasks and ensure entries are properly reflected in financial records.

• Help maintain accounting workflows in Sage 300 and Sage Timberline while supporting process improvements as needed.

• At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in property accounting or a closely related area.
• Working knowledge of month-end close procedures, accrual accounting, and general ledger maintenance.
• Experience handling accounts payable, journal entries, and cash management responsibilities.
• Proficiency with Sage 300, Sage Timberline, or similar accounting systems.
• Ability to manage multiple entities or projects while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize deadlines in a hands-on work environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while coordinating with internal teams.
