Special Education Teacher in Hayward, CA

This is a contract position beginning as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year, providing consistency and meaningful support to your students.

This position is full time, offering 35-37.5 hours per week. You’ll collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to implement effective strategies that engage students and foster both academic and social growth.

Qualifications:

• Active California Mild/Moderate Special Education Credential
• Degree in Special Education
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the middle school level
• Solid background in delivering ELA and History curriculum to students with diverse learning needs
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for middle school students
• Provide targeted instruction in ELA and History, adapting materials for various learning styles and abilities
• Maintain open communication with families, staff, and administration regarding student progress
• Monitor and document student growth, making data-driven adjustments as necessary
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment to support social and academic success
