Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every Other Weekend Rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to acutely and chronically ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients, including post-operative general surgery, GYN surgery, and total knee and hip replacement patients
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses including acute/chronic respiratory illness, CHF/pulmonary edema, active GI bleeding, renal failure, diabetes (hyper- and hypoglycemic conditions), arrhythmia, drug overdose, and stable COVID
• Administer IV medication drips including Heparin and TNA per unit protocols
• Care for patients with CIWA scores below 7, suicidal ideation, uncontrolled or new-onset seizures, and those undergoing radioactive therapy
• Float to other system campuses as needed
• Adhere to holiday coverage requirements: travelers are expected to work one winter holiday from each of the following pairs — Black Friday or Thanksgiving; Christmas Eve or Christmas Day; New Year's Eve or New Year's Day

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical Telemetry or Telemetry nursing
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Third-party education verification required; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
• No open background check cases permitted
• Current driver's license required to verify address
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
