Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 15-bed Emergency Department with 2 trauma bays, operating at a Level IV Trauma designation with STEMI receiving and stroke center capabilities
• Manage a patient population presenting with common diagnoses including abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain in a department treating 45+ patients per day
• Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio while performing triage duties in a designated triage area as required
• Administer and monitor common drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia agents
• Perform and assist with respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen; troubleshoot as needed
• Participate in phlebotomy/lab draws, self-scheduling a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule in alignment with department staffing plans

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, and NIHSS
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
• Must be available and present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
• Willingness to float within Zone 1 in the event of extreme staffing need, as determined by Nurse Manager
• Compliance with navy blue scrub dress code requirement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency with NIHSS assessment and TNCC protocols in an emergency care setting
• Prior experience in a Level IV Trauma Emergency Department environment
• Familiarity with reading cardiac monitor strips independently (no monitor techs on unit)
• Experience working in an ED with dedicated psychiatric/seclusion rooms and in-house 24/7 security
