Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing diagnoses including CHF, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
• Titrate drips including analgesics for pain management, anticoagulants for blood clot treatment, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control
• Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring independently, as no monitor techs are assigned to the unit
• Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and ventilators
• Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements; expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Float within Zone 1 as determined by nurse manager and departmental needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must be present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; driver's license must be submitted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical/Surgical setting with similar patient populations
• Experience titrating drips in an acute care environment
• Familiarity with respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and ventilators
