6GR PIPE WELDER

kad is seeking an experienced 6GR Pipe Welder to join its team. This role is responsible for performing high-quality welds on pressure vessels, piping, and nozzles in accordance with industry codes and standards. This is a long-term opportunity for a skilled welder looking for steady, consistent work with the potential for additional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform 6GR welding on pressure vessels in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
• Weld piping and nozzles to meet required specifications and codes
• Perform back gouging as needed to ensure weld quality and integrity
• Inspect welds and materials to confirm compliance with quality and safety standards
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and welding procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company and site safety policies
• Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment and tools

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a 6GR welder
• Demonstrated ability to perform 6GR welding on pressure vessels, piping, and nozzles
• Working knowledge of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
• Proficiency in back gouging techniques
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds
• Willingness to work extended shop hours and occasional weekend road jobs as needed

Schedule

• Current schedule is 42.5 hours per week: 9-hour shifts Monday through Thursday and a 6.5-hour shift on Friday
• Shop hours are expected to increase to 50 hours per week within approximately 6 to 8 weeks
• Additional overtime may be available for candidates willing to work weekend road jobs
• This is a long-term position
