Facility Power Systems Electrician

Based in Chesapeake, VA, you’ll be the go-to expert keeping our facility energized and safe. Your morning might start with preventive rounds—checking panels, testing circuits, and confirming compliance with code and safety practices. By midday, you could be diagnosing a tough fault, tracing wiring through schematics, and restoring critical equipment to peak performance. In the afternoon, you’ll collaborate with teammates to plan an upgrade, log your work with precise material and labor details, and coach a junior electrician through best practices. Every step, safety comes first.

• Execute installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and related components.
• Perform scheduled inspections to spot issues early and ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory standards.
• Diagnose electrical malfunctions and implement effective, lasting fixes.
• Work closely with the team to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Document tasks performed and materials used with accuracy and clarity.
• Follow established safety procedures and protocols without exception.
• Provide support in training and mentoring junior electricians when needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship is preferred.
• Active Virginia electrician license or certification.
• Hands-on electrician experience, ideally in commercial or industrial environments.
• Deep familiarity with electrical systems, wiring methods, and applicable safety standards.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Sharp troubleshooting ability and meticulous attention to detail.
